Wireless Support

My current laptop does not have wireless support, although its a bit old it still works ok. What should I do buy a new, more efficient laptop that comes with wireless support or buy a wireless network card for my old laptop and save on cost?
You could buy a usb wireless adapter, they cost only around $30.
