Question About ASUS G2 Notebooks

I'm looking for a gaming laptop. My max spend is about $1600. I've looked at the Dell Inspiron 1720 series, and the ASUS G2 series. I just want to play some RTS and FPS games on it, it doesn't have to be too fancy.
I like the way the ASUS G2 looks. My question is, is it worth it to pay the extra $150 and go from the AMD with ATI 2600 HD up to the Intel with 8600MGT?

You'll have to decide for yourself if that difference is worth $150. You don't mention which CPU so I can't compare the AMD vs. the Intel.
A friend of mine has the G2, and it is sweet. The screen especially is nice.
